It was the Spring of 2003 and Whitney Valcin had one of her very first light bulb moments. She finally discovered what it felt like to know her life's purpose. Although it was her Sophomore year of high school, she felt like she didn't know which direction to take in life until that day. She was put in charge of producing a monthly TV show that aired in the local area called, "The Book Club". It featured a host and one to several guest each month. She was also in charge of producing, casting and even editing the show. Because of this experience, it enabled her to produce other locally aired shows. When she 1st found out about her role of "producer" she hurried home, stayed up all night and researched (in great detail) what a producer does.
This was her thrust into the world of Film and TV and she was excited for the journey!
Since then, Whitney has went on to earn a degree from SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design) in Film and TV. While there, she worked on many student and professional productions. She dived into producing, creating and casting many projects. She also lent her hand at other skills such as Editing, Production Design, directing and more. At one point, people just called her, "The Casting Girl". People would come to her on several occasions to cast their projects or just needed advice on starting a project, or the new steps in their process. She recalls being known as "The Fixer" . She states, "I once was hired to just fix what someone else messed up."
As she continues her trek in this industry, she notes that she;'s been blessed to meet many amazing people and will continue to cultivate those relationships. She's been fortunate to even dive into other things and discover what it's really like to, "Live your best life" . Got a question? Connect. :)
